Direction and attractions

Q: Are there any convenience stores and supermarkets nearby?

A: There is a supermarket that is about a 3-minute walk from DEN. There are also a few convenience stores within walking distance.

Q:Is there a parking lot?
A: We do not have a parking lot. There is a paid parking lot within walking distance from the hostel if you need to come by car.

Q: How can I get to hostel DEN from Narita/Haneda Airport?
A: There are directions to our hostel from both Narita and Haneda Airports on our website under "Directions"


​​​​Check in-out

Q: If I arrive before 4 PM, can I leave my luggage at DEN until I check in?
A: Yes. You can leave your luggage with us any time after 8 AM on your check in day.

Q: Can I leave my luggage at DEN after I check out?
A: Yes. You can leave your luggage with us anytime until 11 PM on your check out date.

Q: Can I check in before 4 PM?
A: Our check-in time is between 4 PM and 11 PM. If you arrive before the check-in time we are happy to store your luggage for you in the meantime. If you leave your luggage with us please make sure to return before 11 PM to pick up your luggage and to check-in.

Q: Can I check out before 8 AM?
A: Yes. Although our reception desk is closed between 11 PM and 8 AM, guests are able to check out anytime. There will be a card key return box at the front desk between 11 PM and 11 AM. Please put your card key inside and then leave from the front door.

Q: My plane arrives at Narita/Haneda Airport at a late time, so I am not sure if I can check in by 11 PM or not. What should I do?
A: If you let us know in advance that you will be arriving at our hostel past 11 PM due to transportation issues, we can email you directions on how to check in after reception closes. If you would like us to email you these directions, please contact us by phone (03-6661-2067) or email (inquiry@hostelden.jp) as soon as possible.

Q: Is there a curfew?
A: There is no curfew, but the front door is locked after 11pm. Guests can enter/exit the building using their card keys.

Q: If I am staying more than 1 night, do I need to check in/out every day?
A: There is no need to check out/check in if you are staying more than 1 night (unless you have a bed change) and you are welcome to stay in your bed/room.


Facilities and amenities

Q: Are pajamas provided?
A: We do not provide room wear. Please bring your own.

Q: Do you have a shared kitchen?
A: There is a basic kitchen in the 1st floor common area with a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, hot water kettle, sink, cutlery and tableware.

Q: Do you have a common area?
A: There is a shared common room and TV area in the 1st floor common area with a projector, Netflix, and board games.

Q: Do you have a prayer room?
A: Yes, there is a prayer room on the 2nd floor.

Q: What kind of items do you sell/rent?
A: You can purchase tooth brushes, ear plugs, eye masks, and slippers. You can rental bath towels, USB cables, and adapters.

Q: Do you provide towels?
A: Towels are available for rental (¥100). Please note that the towels are not exchanged so if you require a new towel please tell reception. Towels are provided free of charge for guests staying in private rooms.

Q: Is room/bed cleaning included during my stay?
A: For guests staying for more than 4 nights in dormitory rooms we can exchange your linen for free once every 4 nights. Please let reception know if you would like to have your sheets changed. For guests in private rooms please let a staff member know by 11 AM that day if you wish for a linen change/room cleaning.

Q: What amenities are provided?
A: Private Family Room: AC, full-body mirror, hangers, handy (free smartphone with data), slippers, bath towels, face towels, chair, desk, bed-side lamp and table, power outlets. Shared amenities: Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, iron and ironing board
Dormitory Room: Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash, hand soap, iron, ironing board, hangers, handy (free smartphone with data)

Q: Are there lockers in the dormitory rooms?
A: We have lockers, but there are no lockers for large luggage (ie. suitcases). We have luggage chains on the walls of most dormitory rooms.

Q: Is there a place to store my valuables in the dormitory rooms?
A: There are lockers in all of the dormitory rooms, so feel free to use store your valuables in them.

Q: Do you have any events?
A: We plan and host many events at hostel DEN. Sake tasting, food-making parties, and seasonal events are examples of a few. Please check our Facebook and Instagram for updates on events, or ask staff about them after you check in.

Q: Is it possible to use DEN for events/parties?
A: Our rooftop can be booked out for private events/parties. Please inquire to inquiry@hostelden.jp


Reservation change and cancellation

Q: How old do I have to be to stay at DEN?
A: To stay in a dormitory, guests must be 15 years of age or older. Anyone of any age can stay in a private room, as long as they are accompanied by someone 15 years of age or older.

Q: I would like to change my reservation.
A: For direct reservations, please contact us to make changes to your booking. If you booked through an online booking site (Booking.com, Hostelworld, etc) pease contact them directly to change your booking.
If you are not able to change your booking through the site you booked through, please feel free to contact us directly at booking@hostelden.jp

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: The cancellation policy will vary depending on the site you booked through and the room you have booked. Please consult their website for the cancellation policy.


Others

Q: I am going away for a few days after I check out and then coming back to check in again at DEN. Can I leave my luggage at DEN during the days that I am away?
A: Yes, you can. However, we charge 400 yen per night for luggage stored at our hostel on nights that guests do not stay with us.

Q: Is breakfast provided?
A: Unfortunately, no. If you ask staff, we can suggest places for breakfast nearby.
